So my house smelled like burning rubber the other day. Then I noticed that my cat's chest looked sort of wet and upon closer examination was also a brownish color. The reason that I did not think right away that she had been sprayed by a skunk is that it is a different smell than when someone hits one and it dies. My mom and I had the fun task of giving my cat a bath. I also learned some interesting things on the internet:

Skunk sray is alkaline, so you use basic things to counteract it.

My cat is stupid. The web sites said that it is usually only dogs that get sprayed by skunks, because cats are usually smart enough not to mess with them.
